THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 18&19

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 18&19

I spent the morning exploring the Little Bighorn Battlefield. (For the record, if you have an America the Beautiful Pass (National Parks Annual Pass), it also grants you entry to National Battlefields, Monuments, and Recreation Areas.)...

THE PILGRIMAGE: 11-15 The Break Down

THE PILGRIMAGE: 11-15 The Break Down

Spent all of Sunday working on Lazarus in front of my hotel room.
Methodically removing the air box, checking the air filter, removing the spark plugs, checking that they spark, removing the carbs, checking that the little jets weren’t plugged and so on......

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 9 & 10

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 9 & 10

I moved a little slower than usual getting out of Zortman, went a little too hard with the locals. Woops.
Had a nice little lunch at a place called the Hitching Post in Malta, before making my way to Fort Peck trying to out run this storm. ....

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 7 & 8

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 7 & 8

We climbed the road to Judith Peak in a roll back tow truck at 8 am. Martin had a special appreciation for my struggle after working a big ass truck up that awful washboard crap. The wind had dissipated, and it was almost nice up on top of the mountain. .....

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 5 & 6

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 5 & 6

Reluctantly left my cozy cabin at Glacier Mist RV Park, in Cut Bank and headed south. Note to the wise, don’t drive over the Tiber Dam on the east end of Lake Elwell (outside Shelby) because holy hell giant. loose. terrible. gravel. ....

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 3 & 4

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 3 & 4

Left Rexford fairly early and rode the East side of Lake Koocanusa. It was overcast and a bit chilly, but everything was fine. I back tracked to Libby to get gas, before I hit Forest Service Road 763.

This little jaunt through the Kootenai National Forest between Libby and Olney was the best part of the day. It sprinkled on and off but for the most part I was distracted by some fun twisties and then some fun dirt (which btw is even more fun with proper tires ha!)  ....

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 1 & 2

THE PILGRIMAGE: DAY 1 & 2

Officially Day 1 of the Pilgrimage!

Easy 173 mi day, and went down Hwy 211 that turns into a very fun dirt road which features this view. Yes please. Despite the on and off sprinkles and a little chilly at 58*F, a successful first day with no issues from Lazarus, yay! … (as I huddle in blankets trying to feel my legs again at my Grandma’s house in Thompson Falls.) ......

THE TIME INBETWEEN: The Pilgrimage Prequel

THE TIME INBETWEEN: The Pilgrimage Prequel

The trip from Moab, Utah to the Bitterroot Valley to get Lazarus ready for the Pilgrimage.

I find a Missoula man in the middle of nowhere in Utah, I get lost then adopted by strangers, and Lazarus's stator decides it is it's time to die.
