What is Rocky Mountain Roll?

Tickets for Rocky Mountain Roll 5 Go on Sale TODAY

With that being said, if you’ve never been before you’ve gotta be asking yourself, what the heck is Rocky Mountain Roll? Is it a Rally? Is it a Private Campout? Is it a Riding Event?? What the heck is this?

Rocky Mountain Roll is about the route you take to get there.

It’s about meeting new people.

It’s about having a chill weekend in the Bitterroot Valley, on a family ranch, with just the things you need.

Hi my name is Amanda Zito, and I host Rocky Mountain Roll on my family’s ranch.

Rocky Mountain Roll is a co-ed, Redneck, Motorcycle Campout in Corvallis Montana.  It’s open to anyone who has bought a ticket. We don’t sell tickets at the gate, so you have to buy them ahead of time.

The pasture we camp in is home to our cattle the other 11 months of the year. We’re about the closest thing to “grass roots” as you can get. Literally, we provide shovels to clear a spot for your tent. There’s no vendors, no bands, although if you want to bring a guitar that’s always a good time. We’re there to hang out, tell stories and explore.

This event started just as kind of a party so I could celebrate finishing the Pilgrimage in 2016. It kind of snowballed, more and more people wanted to come, and now we’re going into the 4th year of Rocky Mountain Roll coming up in 2019.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that this was their excuse to finally visit Montana. We’ve had people from all over, not just Montanans. People from Canada, South Carolina, California, Tennessee, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania. It’s been really awesome.

We put a cap on it so everyone has a chance to meet each other. By the time everyone leaves Sunday, we’ve made new friends, people who we keep in touch with and can’t wait to see the next year.

We welcome everyone, baggers, choppers, sport bikes, cafes, dirt bikes, adv, whatever you’ve got you’re welcome. I get asked a lot, there is no paved road on the property and the lane from the main road is a well maintained dirt road as well, we’re 8 miles from town and gas and stores.

It is private property, and we’re not a shiny dude ranch,  so we don’t advertise our address. If you wanna come ,you get it when you buy your ticket. There are no tickets sold at the gate, and we ask everyone to keep it to themselves. This is our home.

My parents were kind of eh about it at first, we’re pretty protective of our small corner of the world. And a bringing a bunch of strangers we don’t know into our home essentially was not top of their list of things to do. A lot of strangers. But now they’re 100% behind it, they’re the reason it’s still happening, I couldn’t do without their support.

Everyone checks in Friday Afternoon with my Mom, they get some stickers and a free map of the Bitterroot Valley and she kind of lays down the law.

For 2020 we’ll be doing Pizza Saturday Night, we also do Free Soda for everybody and Saturday Morning we all ride to Farmer’s Market. From there it’s totally up to you. We’re very excited to have the event be FOUR days this year. We have a redneck pool, which is actually a tarp in the bed of an old Dodge filled with water from the spring on our property.  The last couple years Montgomery Distillery in Missoula has welcomed us into their facility and offered tours to our attendees. They also build bikes in the back, and Ryan Montgomery has supported us since the beginning. We’re excited to announce some exciting things with Montgomery Distillery for Sunday schedule soon! But if you’re an outdoors lover there is a lot to do in the Bitterroot, hot springs, beautiful hikes, and a crazy amount of forest service roads that lead you way back in the Mountains. Saturday Night we do a Raffle of all the goodies our awesome sponsors have donated. Last year Wolfman Luggage donated two of their Expedition Dry Duffel Bags and they went to very good homes.

It’s been amazing to have the continued support from brands like Support Badass Babes, and The Moto Meetup, and also the local shop in Hamilton, Al’s Cycle. Ryan Englund was one of the first people to email me about support Rocky Mountain Roll however he could. They donate a ton of stuff to the Raffle every year, and just goes out of his way to help us make Rocky Mountain Roll happen.

We don’t really make a profit off of the event, almost all the money given to us by sponsors and ticket sales goes towards renting porta potties, event insurance, and buying stuff to make Rocky Mountain Roll more fun. Anything donated during the event or money used to purchase extra raffle tickets is given to the Ranch to keep it running and so we can do it again next year.

If you have any questions about Rocky Mountain Roll please leave them in the comments, if you’d like to sponsor us please email rockymtnrol@gmail.com . We have a couple sponsorship tiers, so please email me if you are interested in that.
